Building and sustaining a successful practice is no easy matter. Dentists and team members with the most versatile skills have the best chance of thriving. Children today are not the children of yesterday. Parents are in a dilemma about child rearing and arrive in our offices in states of anxiety with kids who are out of control wreaking havoc upon the sensibilities of parents, teachers, doctors and all authority figures. Permissiveness has become the guideline for parents. “No! Stop! Please and Thank you!” are becoming extinct. Instead we have “self-esteem,” “quality time” and “ time-out”. Using his not-to-be-believed, live-action videotapes, Dr. Berman will vividly illustrate a multitude of tricks and techniques for turning even the most recalcitrant child into a cooperative one, without sedation, nitrous oxide or papoose boards. A don’t miss learning experience.

Acquire a better grasp of parent child relationships and how they affect child behavior in the dental office.
Understand the complete team approach to managing even the most reluctant child behavior without mind-altering drugs or restraints.
Enhance your clinical skills and knowledge in regard to the most current pediatric dental procedures (special emphasis on local anesthesia techniques).

Marvin H. Berman, DDS is a graduate of Northwestern University and University of Illinois Dental School and was awarded certification in Pediatric Dentistry at University of Illinois. A former faculty member of both Northwestern University and University of Illinois Dental Schools, Dr. Berman is an internationally recognized pediatric dentist with a career as a successful practitioner in Chicago and world traveled lecturer on the broad spectrum of pediatric dentistry and ‘special needs “ patients spanning over four decades.

Dr. Berman has been an ambassador for dentistry as a health reporter on CBS (News Radio 78) and via media appearances as a Consumer Advisor for the ADA, the Chicago Dental Society and the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and he is co-author of “Essentials of Modern Dental Practice.” He has published numerous articles in the dental literature and has been acclaimed for his instructional videos. He is a member of many professional and service organizations, including Honorary Membership in the Thomas B. Hinman Dental Society. Dr. Berman is an ITL Master Scholar.
