Our dental graduates are entering their professional careers during an exciting and challenging time.  Their approach to patient care will likely be very different from what was common practice even just ten years ago.  Contemporary management of caries, indirect restoration of structurally compromised teeth and replacement of missing teeth are areas undergoing the most significant changes.  The challenges we face in incorporating these changes into our practices, especially in restorative and prosthetic care, can be accompanied by a significant financial investment.  This presentation will review current and developing technologies, both hardware and software, and the various workflows that can be adapted to individual practices to incorporate these exciting technologies.

·       Understand the scope of digital applications such as image acquisition, restoration design, 3D printing, and milling and the changing face of dental laboratory technology.

·       Understand the meaning of “work flow” and its critical importance in dental practice.

·       Be able to select and apply appropriate digital technologies to an individual dental practice.
