ENHANCING COMMUNICATION, TREATMENT PLAN ACCEPTANCE AND TREATMENT DELIVERY THROUGH HYPNOSIS Alumni Speaker Series
Friday, September 27, 2013 1:00pm-4:00pm (3 CE hrs) Room 106-B Clinical hypnosis has been recognized as a safe and effective treatment modality since 1958. Its various applications in the dental field have been known for years and are often cited in texts on behavior management, conscious-sedation, pain management and the like. This program will present the dental applications of hypnosis. Easily acquired techniques will be broken down into their components so that the clinician understands the various steps and how to apply them. Attendees will gain an understanding of how to more effectively communicate with patients, how to gain increased acceptance of their proposed treatment plans and how to deliver those treatments so as to maximize the patient's experience.

Alfred L. Frost, III, DDS ’83, MS holds a BA in Biology from Canisius College, an MS (magna cum laude) in Epidemiology from the Roswell Park Memorial Institute, and a DDS with Thesis Honors from the University at Buffalo. He has completed residency and fellowship training at the Eastman Dental Center, the Genesee Hospital and Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Dr. Frost is recognized as a Registered Hypnotic Anesthesiologist by the National Board for Hypnotherapy and Hypnotic Anesthesiology and received their National Award for Professional Excellence in 1998.
