A case study format will provide participants with the skills to:

  • Assess risk factors in your current practice.
  • Utilize courtroom tested record-keeping principles.
  • Ensure compliance with the New York State Dental Practice Act, ADA Principles of Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct and New York State Code of Ethics.
  • Reduce the incidence of disciplinary complaints and malpractice claims through clinical management strategies.

Take home valuable written materials to guide you in practice.

Chester J. Gary, DDS ’78, JD is a dentist/attorney-at-law, admitted in New York and Florida, with a law practice concentrated on issues relevant to health care providers.  He is Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Course Director of Practice and Risk Management, University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and adjunct faculty at the Erie Community College School of Dental Hygiene.  He serves as Editor of the Eighth District Dental Society Bulletin, reviewing editor of the New York State Dental Journal and Chair of the District Professional Liability Claims Committee.  He is a fellow of the American  College of Dentists and member of the New York State and Erie County Bar Associations and institute of Business Appraisers. Dr. Gary has published numerous articles and lectured extensively regarding dentistry and the law.
