Updates in Pediatric Dentistry: Treating Tiny Tots to Teens

This course will discuss the many recent advances in pediatric dentistry.  This course is specifically designed for the practitioner who treats children.  The most common problems in pediatric dentistry will be described and practical advice will be given on how to solve these common clinical situations.  

Topics covered:
  • The latest in caries formation and management
  • Prevention techniques: Sealants, CCP-ACP, Xylitol, and Fluoride Varnish
  • Pulp Therapy and MTA
  • Restorative Materials and Prep Design
  • Traumatic Injuries

Course Objectives:
  • Apply the latest prevention techniques to eliminate caries in your practice
  • To diagnose and properly treat a variety of dental injuries
  • Restorative materials and when to use them
  • How to apply the latest paradigm shift in pulp therapy to assure success

Dr. Lance Kisby is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and did his pediatric dental training at Floating Hospital in Boston.  He was in private practice for 17 years in Massachusetts before taking a position as Chief of Pediatric Dentistry at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut.  He is now Head of Pediatric Dentistry at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania where he also holds a Staff appointment in the Department of Pediatrics.  Dr. Kisby is a Clinical Instructor in Pediatric Dentistry at Tuffs and is Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry.  The author of numerous articles, contributing author of a Pediatric Dental textbook, and Contributing Editor of the Journal of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Kisby brings over 30 years of clinical, practical, and teaching experience on many topics and issues in pediatric dentistry.
