“TOP OF THE HEAP”

DENTAL IMPLICATIONS OF THE TOP 25 PRESCRIBED MEDICATIONS

September 26, 2013

1:00pm-4:00pm (3 CE hrs)

Room 106-B

Throughout the course of their daily practice, dental professionals must frequently draw upon their knowledge of pharmacology, especially for proper patient care planning and possible dental treatment medication.  However, with the constant introduction of new drug entities and new disease state treatment protocols, it is often difficult for dental professionals to stay up-to-date with the latest information.  This program will provide participants with an update and overview of the 25 most frequently prescribed medications and their clinical dental considerations.  Throughout the program, special emphasis will be given to those medications whose actions, adverse effects, or interactions with other medications may impact dental therapy.

Course Objectives:

·       Identify the most frequently prescribed FDA-approved medications.

·       Review the basic mechanism of action, principle therapeutic indications and potential adverse reactions and drug   interactions of these medications.

·       Discuss the clinical dental considerations of these medications and their potential impact on dental therapy.

Recommended for…Everyone.
