Clear aligners gained popularity at the turn of the century when a new company to the dental industry figured out a way to produce mass made custom aligners to straighten teeth. Since then, this company has grown to dominate the clear aligner marketplace and created the realization that clear aligners can comprehensively correct an entire malocclusion. However this system is expensive and requires costly training and computer equipment to implement properly.

This program will provide both a lecture and a hands-on format for the day. The morning will cover the 5 main core moves that are typically accomplished with a clear plastic aligner. These moves comprised of Bodily translation, Torque, space closure, tipping, and rotation are simple to achieve and will be your guides for three dimensional control of teeth using only a sheet of plastic, a hi pressure vacuformer machine, and your ingenuity. In the afternoon participants will get to try their hand at thermoforming as they go through some practice exercises with Dr. Neil Warshawsky.

Course Objectives:

· Simplify the concept of removable orthodontic therapy.

· Create a clear aligner to predictably move teeth in an economic and controlled manner.

Neil Warshawsky, DDS is the founder and owner of Get It Straight Orthodontics, a leading-edge orthodontic practice in the Chicago area. A board certified orthodontic specialist since 1992, he has over 20 years of experience with cleft palate and craniofacial cases. Currently he is an associate professor of Orthodontics at the University of Illinois Craniofacial center. Dr. Warshawsky is a nationally recognized speaker who has been featured on television interviews on ABC and Fox news programs. He is a member of the Clinical Advisory Board for the Incognito^™ system and is instrumental in the evolution of the product as it sets itself apart as the finest system in orthodontics today. He also lectures on clear aligner therapy, and is an instructor for Raintree Essix on the MTM minor tooth movement clear aligner system. Dr. Warshawsky received his D.D.S., M.S. and Certificate of Orthodontics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and is a member of the World Federation of Orthodontics.
